Cougar Nation, we need you now more than ever!
Ryan Contreras-Betz, a recent Palatine High School graduate and guest broadcaster for both the Chicago Crush and Chicago Cougars, has had a difficult off-season. This summer, Ryan faced chemotherapy after being diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor, a rare and aggressive cancer. On top of that, he’s now recovering from a serious car accident, adding even more weight to his already heavy load. His family has been stretched thin—dealing with medical expenses, missed work, and the loss of their car. But Ryan is a fighter. And we know the incredible communities that stand behind the Cougars are ready to fight with him.
We invite you to join us as we come together to support Ryan and his family during the upcoming Chicago Crush vs. Chicago Cougars games. On Friday, October 11, at 4:40 PM at the Canlan Ice Rink in Romeoville, and on Saturday, October 12, at 8:00 PM at the West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows, where we will be holding a special 50-50 raffle. Half of the proceeds will go to one lucky winner, while the other half will provide much-needed assistance to Ryan and his family as they navigate medical bills and ongoing support.
This is more than just a game—it’s a chance to rally around someone who’s been a voice for our teams, and a bright light in our community. Whether you’re cheering for the Crush or the Cougars, this is a moment for all of us to unite and show Ryan that we’re with him in this fight.
We hope to see you there, cheering loud, giving big, and showing what it truly means to be a part of the Crush and Cougar family. If you’re unable to attend the games but still want to lend your support to Ryan and his family, we encourage you to visit Ryan's Go Fund Me page HERE. Your generosity can make a significant impact during this challenging time, helping Ryan with medical expenses and ongoing care.
Let’s fill the stands and fill Ryan’s heart with the love and support he deserves. See you at the rink!
