Fort Wayne, IN The Chicago Cougars Elite squad made a resounding statement this weekend, sweeping their divisional rivals, the Fort Wayne Spacemen, in a thrilling two-game road series. The Cougars showcased their offensive prowess and defensive resilience, outscoring the Spacemen 10-4 over the two contests.

In Friday's series opener, the Cougars came out firing on all cylinders, jumping to a commanding 3-0 lead in the first period. Caleb Lind was the star of the show, netting two power-play goals in quick succession. The Cougars' special teams were exceptional, converting on 3 of 5 power-play opportunities throughout the game.

Despite a brief comeback attempt by the Spacemen in the second period, the Cougars maintained control. Jack Schejbal had a stellar performance, contributing a goal and three assists. The Cougars' depth was on full display, with seven different players finding the back of the net.



Saturday's contest proved to be a tighter affair, but the Cougars once again emerged victorious. Kyle LaMantia opened the scoring early in the first period, setting the tone for a hard-fought battle. Goaltender Nate Maurin was the unsung hero of the night, turning away an impressive 34 of 35 shots to secure the win.

Caleb Lind continued his hot streak, scoring what would prove to be the game-winning goal late in the second period. Cameron Twadell sealed the deal with an empty-net goal in the final minute, cementing the Cougars' sweep of the series.
